MAP Policy

MAP Policy effective March 1, 2023

CAS Corporation has established a Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policy to protect the value of the CAS brand, as well as the interests of our valued authorized re-selling partners. CAS understands that the re-seller is not required to abide by this MAP policy, however, CAS has the right to cease all sales to any reseller that chooses to advertise CAS products below MAP.

This policy has been unilaterally adopted by CAS Corporation and applies to all CAS Resellers.

CAS Authorized resellers and their customers, if applicable, cannot advertise CAS products (includingoptions and parts) lower than the prices as stated in this MAP Policy. This policy applies to all commercial advertising placements, print ads, broadcast, direct mail, faxes, Internet, email, etc. CAS Authorized reseller's Internet website and their customer's Internet websites are considered to be advertising, and as such are subject to the CAS MAP Policy.

It is the responsibility of a CAS Authorized Reseller that sells to a sub-dealer, to monitor the advertised prices of the sub-dealer. If the sub-dealer is advertising below MAP, the Authorized reseller must inform their sub-dealer to adjust advertised pricing to meet or exceed MAP levels. A subdealer is defined as a CAS Authorized Reseller's customer that re-sells CAS products.

The CAS MAP Policy does not in any way restrict the dealer’s actual selling price. It does apply to any activity which CAS determines, in its sole discretion, is designed or intended to circumvent the intent of the CAS MAP Policy.

The CAS Authorized Reseller may not make any statements or comments on its website in connection with any CAS MAP Product(s) that indicates or implies that a lower price may be found during online checkout process, including, but not limited to the following:

  • Click for price
  • Click here for lower price
  • See price in cart
  • Add to cart for lower price
  • Check cart for lower price
  • Price to low to advertise
  • Click for coupon

Any CAS product being sold as used, used like new, open box, etc., must show the image of the actual scale being sold. If multiple used CAS products are available for sale, the actual images must be shown with each individual scale. The serial number(s) must be shown in the product description.

Parts cannot be sold on any third party website, including Amazon, eBay, Walmart, etc. Exceptions: options and accessories including AC adapters, interface cables, fish platters, produce platters, printers, remote displays, and scanners.

Each CAS product must stand on its own with the proper assigned model number. Bundling a CAS product together with other CAS products or non CAS products is a violation of this MAP policy.

The CAS MAP Policy does not apply once an item is placed in a customer’s “shopping cart” on an Internet website. Once the pricing is associated with the end user’s intent to purchase, the price is deemed the “selling price” and will fall outside the CAS MAP policy.

If a substitute model number is used, the advertised price must still be at MAP levels.

Failure to comply with the CAS MAP policy may result in the suspension of your CAS dealership status. Once notified, a dealer has a 24 hour period to update pricing to MAP levels.

  • 1st offense - Immediate suspension of any orders until dealer is in compliance with MAP.
  • 2nd offense - CAS will suspend all sales for a period of 30 days.
  • 3rd offense - CAS will suspend all sales indefinitely.

If you have any questions on this MAP Policy, please call your sales representative or (800) 223-4227.

MAP pricing can be found on in the 2023 Product Catalog.
